Healing Home Group was born from lived experience and a determination to build a safer bridge between hospital discharge and home.

Our Story

In April 2024, founder Corey Halstead survived a life-threatening car fire that left burns over 50% of his body. After months of hospitalization and surgeries, discharge brought another challenge: there was no clear, trauma-informed place to continue healing.

That gap inspired Healing Home Group—a survivor-led nonprofit working toward a peaceful, supportive home where adult burn survivors and their families can recover with dignity, care, and community.

To provide compassionate transitional housing, post-burn recovery support, and meaningful connection for adult burn survivors and their families following hospital discharge.
